What is this type of insurance?
This insurance covers certain travel disruption expenses if the rental vehicle breaks down or is involved in an accident during the period of the vehicle rental agreement and cannot be safely used.
What is insured?
Taxi expenses up to €500 directly related to the accident.
Phone and internet expenses incurred to arrange assistance or reorganise travel plans following a breakdown or accident, up to €300.
Emergency accommodation costs for one night, if stranded far from the planned accommodation due to a breakdown or accident affecting the rental vehicle, up to €500.
A comparable or higher-category replacement rental vehicle, where available, if the rental vehicle cannot be safely driven and the rental company cannot provide one at its own expense.
If a comparable replacement rental vehicle is not required or cannot be provided: reimbursement of unused rental days based on the rental price, plus fixed compensation of €20 for each unused rental day.
Insured amount
The maximum coverage limit is €5,000 per insurance contract.
What is not insured?
Any costs or expenses not specifically listed under “What is insured?”
Indirect, consequential, incidental, financial or non-financial losses.
Any other loss, damage, charge, fee, compensation or liability not expressly covered.
Are there any restrictions on cover?
Coverage does not apply to damages or losses that occurred outside the coverage period specified in the insurance policy.
Insurance claims cannot exceed the Insured amount.
Your name must appear on the rental agreement. Other drivers listed in the rental agreement are also covered.
Where am I covered?
You are covered in the countries or regions where the use of the rental vehicle is permitted under your rental agreement.
What are my obligations?
You must provide accurate and complete information when concluding the contract, as well as when submitting a claim.
You must comply with all terms of the rental agreement.
You must notify the police if a third party is involved in the accident or if required by the rental agreement.
You must inform us of any event that might lead to a claim as soon as possible, and not later than 90 days after the insured event.
When and how do I pay?
You pay a single insurance premium. The payment will be charged using the same method you used to complete your car rental booking.
When does the cover start and end?
You are covered for the period shown in your insurance policy.
If the rental agreement is extended, the Mobility Protection policy must also be extended accordingly.
How do I cancel the contract?
You can cancel the insurance at any time before collecting your rental vehicle by contacting the company through which you purchased the insurance.
